The Automobile Awards at the Automobile Club de France: A sublime artistic scenography by My Pilot Collection

The Automobile Awards at the Automobile Club de France: A sublime artistic scenography by My Pilot Collection

On 12th December, in the majestic setting of the Automobile Club de France, nestling in the heart of the Place de la Concorde (Paris, France), My Pilot Collection once again demonstrated its expertise by transforming the magnificent Salon Concorde into an ephemeral gallery dedicated to art and the automobile for one evening.

This unprecedented performance was part of the Automobiles Awards 2024, a prestigious ceremony orchestrated by Lionel Robert, which each year celebrates the leading figures in the automotive industry with 25 awards for 56 brands and equipment suppliers shaping the cars of today and tomorrow.

Their spaces before and after the art exhibition :

A logistical challenge met with panache: 35 artworks installed in 3 hours 30 minutes

Creating a dazzling exhibition in such a demanding historic venue was a real challenge. Between the impossibility of using the main entrance, lifts too narrow to accommodate the works, and the formal impossibility of hanging or piercing the gilt-adorned walls, every move had to be meticulously calculated.

In just 3 hours 30 minutes - an average of 6 minutes per work to unload, unpack and install - 35 unique creations by 10 artists and craftsmen were showcased in this showcase of gilt, marble and elegance. The result? An exceptional immersive experience that amazed the 250 VIP guests, transforming this iconic venue into a veritable temple of automotive art.

A range of artworks combining history and know-how

Joseph Ducrocq, with his philosophical works "Black Dog" and "Entre les Lignes", combines personal introspection with his passion for Porsche.

Alongside him, Maison V&P's solid wood masterpieces, such as its gold-leafed Citroën DS, a gleaming Aston Martin DB5 and a raw Lamborghini Miura, impressed with their authenticity and timeless refinement.

The artistic palette was enriched by Benoît Montet, who combined vibrant pop art with classic elegance. His colourful "Cadillac Toys" stood side by side with a discrete Rolls-Royce, demonstrating the breadth of his style.

Meanwhile, Le Muret des Stands celebrated the legends of motor sport with a variety of digital illustrations, highlighting classic icons such as the Mercedes 300 SL, or F. Bertoni's Citröen Traction Avant with F1 World Champions: Nino Farina in an Alfa Romeo 158 & Fangio in a Maserati 250F.

On a more personal level, Valérie Durand, nicknamed "the portraitist to the stars", captivated visitors with her colourful and energetic knife paintings of Steve McQueen and the Mustang universe.

Meanwhile, Customis'Air seduced car and aviation enthusiasts with its customisable Porsche, Maserati and Alpine seats, combined with a trolley inspired by the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

For fans of industrial design and object upcycling, Car2Art and JLR Concept are pushing back the boundaries of creativity. Car2Art transforms Ferrari XX hubs and brake discs into functional and decorative objects, while JLR Concept gives a second life to old fire extinguishers metamorphosed into retro-chic lamps bearing emblematic logos such as that of Lamborghini.

Laurent Léoncini ‘s fantastic touches transported guests into a futuristic world, with Mad Max-inspired compositions alongside his F1 photographs. Finally, Soren Fantini added a touch of emotion and nostalgia by transforming car miniatures into unique automotive ice creams, bringing new life to family miniatures usually forgotten in dusty drawers.

My Pilot Collection continues to push beyond the boundaries of automotive online merchants

This ephemeral gallery has taken up one last major challenge: to represent 18 different car brands, a record for My Pilot Collection, while maintaining elegance and harmony. The artworks, worth a total of €70,000, demonstrated the richness and diversity of the artistic talent of the My Pilot Collection partners, combining modernity, nostalgia and emotion while creating a bridge between the history and future of the automobile.
