💛 THE EXPERT'S WORD

Gérard Larousse, a prominent member of the ACO drivers' club, which brings together drivers who have braved the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has been asked to write an article for the association's annual review, dedicated to Porsche's first victory at Le Mans.

A two-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans as a driver, and having brilliantly managed the Renault Alpine team in 1978, then the Renault F1 team, with drivers such as Prost, Arnoux and Jabouille, Larousse asked the artist to create an illustration depicting a Porsche 917 in action during the 24 Hours of Le Mans, to illustrate his article.

A close look at the illustration reveals a second 917 in the background, sporting purple and green colours. The car in question is that of Gérard Larousse, who finished a creditable second in 1972. He went on to win the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1973 and 1974 alongside Pescarolo at Matra.

Simple Plexiglas

The printing is done directly onto the back of 4mm thick Plexiglas, then enhanced with a layer of white adhesive.

The Plexiglas is fitted with a 2cm thick medium wood hanging frame that allows the picture to be removed from the wall.

It's a modern support that's extremely bright and deep, perfectly suited to small and medium formats.

The printing is done directly onto the back of 4mm thick Plexiglas, then enhanced with a layer of white.

The Plexiglas is then lined with an aluminium plate and a 2 cm thick hanging frame, also in aluminium, so that the illustration can be lifted off the wall.

The aluminium plate gives the painting excellent rigidity, avoiding reflections caused by the flexibility of the Plexiglas, which is very appreciated for large formats.

This is a very high-end modern medium, extremely luminous and deep.
